Akshay Kumar angry with Nargis Fakhri
Off late, Nargis Fakhri has walked out of Akshay Kumar starrer, ‘Shaukeen’ remake due to her debut Hollywood venture. Akshay, the lead actor of the film is highly miffed with Nargis unprofessional behaviour. Nargis walked out of the film at the last minute which left the actor in bad mood. Akki feels the actress is ungrateful.
Says a source, “Nargis had always expressed a
desire to work with Akki. She signed a three-film deal with his production
house at a time when she had no takers; this was after her debut in 'Rockstar'
and her performance was panned. In spite of that, Akshay kept his promise of
working with her and recommended her name for Shaukeen, but the actress put the
film in jeopardy as soon as she bagged the Hollywood project.”
Nargis was the first choice for Akshay Kumar starrer, ‘Khiladi 786’ but she was not signed as he felt her managing team was too much demanding. He later roped in Asin but promised to cast Nargis in his future project. But now when he offered her the meaty role in ‘Shaukeen’ remake, she backed off at the last minute.
She asked the makers to adjust the dates as it is clashing with her Hollywood venture but the makers are not ready to made the last minutes changes when everything has been finalized. “She felt that since the project was already delayed, a few days’ adjustment could have been done. But she now prefers to keep mum till the controversy blows over,” says the source.
Shraddha Kapoor replaces Nargis to play the female lead in ‘Shaukeen’ remake. "I was very excited about 'Shaukeen' and we had been preparing for a while now. There was another opportunity in the pipeline and we tried to work out the dates so that I could be a part of both but the dates were clashing. I couldn't have asked the team to wait for me, so it's heartbreaking but I had to let the film go," Nargis said.
"I was really excited to work
with the team of 'Shaukeen' and Abhishek Sharma, who is a terrific director. A
bond with the film and team members of 'Shaukeen' remains and I wish them all
the best," she said. PTI
Confirming Nargis’s backing out of the film, the film producer said, "She had confirmed her dates, but then all of a sudden, she called up from London requesting us to adjust our schedule so that she could accommodate a Hollywood film which required her dates between April 20 and 27. We obliged, but two days later, she told us that she would need another three-four days as the schedule of that film has got stretched," said Murad Khetani, the co-producer of Shaukeen.
