Akki inaugurates air ambulance service
Though Akshay Kumar does daring stunts in films and reality shows, when it comes to safety he takes all the precautionary measures. Akki along with Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss and Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir launched a fleet of complete ambulance services - in the air and on the ground.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, "What bothers me the most about Mumbai is the traffic and this is a perfect service." The ground ambulance service have the facility to transport cardiac patients within 15 to 30 minutes to any private hospital in the city and the trip costs Rs 1,500 but if it's a government hospital, the service will be available free of costs. The service will be accessible only in cities around Mumbai.
"The BMC is sanctioning helipads on buildings. Once that happens, we'll be able to operate within Mumbai," says Dr Panda who operated on PM Manmohan Singh. Akshay also launched a cardiac helpline wherein people can call and seek advice or assistance.
