‘Akira’ trailer: Watch Sonakshi Sinha in a never-seen-before action avatar


Sonakshi Sinha starrer upcoming movie ‘Akira’ is out with its trailer and it sure is adrenaline pumping. The film has been directed by A R Murugadoss and is the remake of 2011 Tamil film ‘Mouna Guru’. It is Sonakshi’s second collaboration with Murugadoss after her 2014 film ‘Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’.

An excited Sonakshi took to her Twitter handle on Monday, July 4 and shared the trailer of the woman centric action drama. “bit.ly/AkiraTrailer-FB  NOW NOW NOW.... Tell me what u think!!! Eeee... #AkiraTrailer,” the ‘Dabangg’ girl wrote.

The trailer shows Sonakshi, who plays the title role of Akira, as a college student who moves from her home in Jodhpur to the big bad city of Mumbai for further studies. She gives it back when her fellow students bully her. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is seen in the role of a corrupt police officer and Akira gets hold of some evidence against him, thus making his team pursue her and stage an unsuccessful encounter. Konkona Sen Sharma also plays a police woman.

The movie presents Sonakshi in a never-seen-before action avatar and the actress is seen kicking and packing punches flawlessly. The actress had reportedly trained in martial arts for a month and a half to prep up to play the character of Akira.

The movie comes with the tagline, ‘No one will be forgiven’ and it is scheduled to release on September 2. The trailer of the film will also be attached with Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’ which is set to hit screens on Eid.
