Ajay Devgn keeps Kareena waiting
Kareena Kapoor’s stars changed for the better when she did Imtiaz Ali’s “Jab We Met”. Before that she had never been recognized as a top actress. However, with time she has time and again proved her mettle with films like “We are Family”, “Heroine”, “Talaash”, and “Ek Main Aur Ek Tu”.
Even marriage has not altered much in her professional life. She is still being bombarded with film offers and it can be safely said that she is one of the top contenders for the top spot for an actress in Bollywood.
However, it seems that Kareena is going through an idle phase in her career. While filmmakers want to cast her in their films she seems to have been sitting idle after booking her schedule for her upcoming films.
It so happened, that Kareena who will start shooting with Ajay Devgn for “Satyagraha” has got herself in a fix. The shooting of Satyagraha that will be directed by “Rajneeti” famed Prakash Jha was supposed to start January onwards. However, it has been found out that Ajay Devgn has been shooting for Sajid Khan’s “Himmatwala” that got delayed due to the controversy surrounding the actor’s last film “Son of Sardar”. This has deferred the shoot of “Satyagraha” as well. This definitely has got Kareena’s dates wasted.
Even before signing on for “Satyagraha” it had been reported that the actress was not sure of doing a multi-starrer with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Bajpai. The UTV producers who have also produced the actress’s “Heroine” convinced her to do the film.
The script was narrated to her a second time after making certain changes. This ensured the actress that she would get enough screen space and then she gave a nod for the film. An actress of only Kareena’s stature could have got the director to re-narrate the film after making relevant changes. Now the film has Kareena play a meaty and substantial role.
However, all these changes now seem to be going waste as the film’s shoot has got delayed.
Recently Kareena had to opt out from the film “Ram Leela” that is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, even after allocating dates for it. Even in the past Bebo has had to let go of Karan Johar’s film for date issues. We only hope that this phase quickly gets over, and we get to see Kareena doing more of good work.
