'Aiyyaa' releases today
Rani Mukerji starrer Aiyyaa is released today. The release of the movie has been proponed by two weeks. Earlier it was supposed to have released after Dushera . The hype generated around the movie was quite big.
It was supposed to be a heroine –centric movie. Rani, w ho plays the role of a Marathi mulgi in the movie is a dreamer. She has done three item numbers in the movie. All of them are raunchy. The song Aga bai is especially too sexy. Rani’s belly dancing in that song is awesome. She also looks glamorous in that song. Her dance moves are seducing enough. His co-star in the movie Prithviraj also looks good in the song.
The Dreamum Wakeupum song is also hilarious. The music director of the movie Amit Trivedi and Lyricist Amit Bhattacharya should be credited for this, as well as the various singers.
However where the movie draws a flak is the script. The film was described as a ‘Wakda’ movie, which is a Marathi term meaning madness. The character of Rani, Meenakshi Deshpande is a lot of that. She wants to be a film actress, but ultimately joins an Arts college as a librarian .There she meets the man of his dreams. She likes him because; she is drawn in by his smell. The family of Meenakshi is weird enough. Her mother is the most. He father is addicted with the repairing of old telephones. They too are desperately trying to marry her off.
The acting by all the actors is too much over the top. Maybe it is due to the weakness of the script itself. Sachin Kundalkar who is the director of the movie, should look into it. He is already a national award winner for screenplay of the movie “Gandha”.
In the season of
comebacks it is to be seen, how Aiyyaa does. There are others who are making a comeback this season. Sridevi
has made a good comeback with English
Vinglish. The others one in the foray is Manisha Koirala, her Bhoot Returns is also releasing today.
The movie has been directed by Rom Gopal Varma . It is a sequel of the earlier
movie, Bhoot. Preity Zinta, who has
been quite busy with her cricket franchisee Kings XI Punjab, is also making a
comeback with Ishkq in Paris. Incidentally Anurag Kashyap who
is the producer of Aiyyaa, has both
the movies Aiyyaa and Chittagong releasing on the same day.
