Aishwarya in a legal hassle
A complaint has been lodged against Aishwarya Rai Bachchan by a 69 yrs old farmer for illegally purchasing his land to set up a windmill at Nandurbar in north Maharashtra. The police after investigation found that the case is baseless and therefore he closed the case finding lack of substance.
Along with Ash, Nandurbar collector and management of Suzlon has also been targeted by the farmer. "We have been cheated by the film star and the Suzlon management. We have been exploited economically,'' Thakre alleged.
The land originally belongs to Thakre’s son who died two years ago and during his existence he entered into an agreement with Suzlon on December 1, 2005, through its representative Jayant Bhosale for the sale of plot for Rs 82,000. Thakre claims that his son was only given Rs 20,000 and the land was sold to Ash at Rs 20 lakh.
But the police on investigation found that Thakre’s son was actually given Rs 82,000 for the land.
"In our opinion, the complaint is an afterthought. There is nothing on record to prove that he was promised a job and 10% of the power. Above all, the original land owner is not alive. Under such circumstances and on the basis of our preliminary probe, we have decided to close the case,'' a senior police official told.
