Actor Vinay Apte passes away, fans mourn
Renowned Marathi and Indian television actor Vinay Apte breathed his last on Saturday, December 7th, 2013. He was 62. He starred in movies like ‘Satyagraha’, ‘Aarakshan’, ‘Chandni Bar’, 'Ek Challis Ki Last Local', 'Rajneeti'.
Vinay Apte was suffering from low blood pressure and finally succumbed to breathing problem.
“Mr. Vinay Apte was admitted to the hospital yesterday, Friday, December 6, 2013 at 08:24PM. He died today, December 7, 2013 at 05:45PM. The cause of his death is multiple organ failure and secondary to acute coronary syndrome,” Dr. Ram Narain, COO of Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, said in a statement.
“He was admitted to the hospital for a month and was recuperating at home after his discharge last month. However, on Friday night, he again complained of breathlessness and we rushed him to the hospital. This morning, his blood pressure dipped and by evening 05:45 pm, we lost him,” said his tear eyed wife Vayjanti.
He was a well-known face of television and acted in serials like Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and Adalat and in the Marathi soap Durva.
Fans took to twitter to express their deepest condolence. Girish Kuber, editor of Loksatta, tweeted, "Very sad. Talented actor #Vinay Apte no more.

Many fans of the Marathi actor also took to twitter to pay their last respect to the legendary actor. The actor is survived by his wife, Vayjanti and a son Vihaan.
