Actor Vikram’s daughter Akshita engaged to boyfriend Manu Ranjith
Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram’s daughter Akshita got engaged to her long-time beau Manu Ranjith on Sunday, July 10 at an upscale hotel in Chennai. It was a close-knit affair with only family members and close relatives of the couple gracing the ceremony.
“It was a very private ceremony. The couple had known each other for a long time and got engaged with the consent of their parents. The wedding is scheduled to take place next year,” a source told IANS.
Manu is the great grandson of former Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi. His mother is the daughter of Muthu, the first son of Karunanidhi. His father is entrepreneur CK Ranganathan, owner of CK Bakery, a fast-growing confectionery chain.
Film-maker S Shankar, who has worked with Vikram on two Tamil projects – ‘Anniyan’ and ‘I’, actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin and several other famous personalities attended the event.
Vikram is married to Shailaja Balakrishnan and also has a son Dhruv who will be making his acting debut shortly, according to reports.
Vikram’s 2015 romantic thriller ‘I’ opposite Amy Jackson, in which he played the role of hunchback earned him plaudits for his performance. The movie became the third highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.
The National Award winning actor is currently busy wrapping up his upcoming film ‘Iru Mugan’ by Anand Shankar, in which he will be seen in a dual roles of a R&AW agent and a baddie. He is also starring in Thiru’s ‘Garuda’.
