Actor Alok Nath’s son arrested, fined for drunken driving

Popular television and film actor Alok Nath's son Shivang has been booked for drunken driving and was fined Rs. 2600. Shivang was arrested after a hot chase by the police on the streets of Mumbai, and was taken to Santa Cruz police station, according to a report in a leading daily.

Shivang was reportedly returning from a birthday party along with three friends, including two women when police signalled him to stop for an alcohol check. But instead of pulling up, he sped away. The police then chased him and intercepted his car in suburban Bandra.

Shivang was in an inebriated state and also didn’t have a driving license. His female friends tried to shield him by arguing that they were driving, police said. The actor’s son has been charged with drunken driving, driving without license and disobeying police. He was let off on the condition that he would show up in court for hearings, while his car has been impounded, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Dudhe said.

Shivang’s father Alok Nath is popular for playing gentle character with high moral and traditional values, on both small and big screens. The internet has tagged him as ‘Sanskari Babuji’, and jokes and memes based on his roles keep surfacing on social media.

It is just a matter of time before ‘sanskari’ jokes start trending, inspired by the actor’s son flaying all ‘sankars’ (values) and running wild on the road with his car.
