Abhishek Bachchan enjoys movie with his kabaddi team

The recently launched Pro Kabaddi League has received tremendous support from the Bollywood fraternity. Actor Abhishek Bachchan known as a sports enthusiast went a step further and bought a franchise in the league, the Jaipur Pink Panthers. Although they lost their opening match against the Mumbai team, U Mumba, they have been on a quite a roll since then. So far the Jaipur Pink Panthers have won seven out of their nine matches and occupy the second position in the tournament.

Throughout the tournament Junior Bachchan has been present in the audience stands to cheer his team. He recently said, “There is little point in associating with a team, no matter which game, unless you’re physically present to motivate them.”

On 20th August, Jaipur Pink Panthers will be playing their first game in their home ground in Jaipur. Noting Abhishek’s enthusiasm and his rapport with the team players, the team’s coach had requested him to take the players out for a film so that they feel refreshed. Navneet Gautam, captain of the Jaipur team said, "We feel great in Abhishek's company, and he always makes an effort to motivate us. Since we will be playing the first match on our home turf today, our coach wanted us to be prepared mentally as well as physically. He gave us the idea of going out for a show of ‘Singham Returns’, so that we feel rejuvenated and fresh."

While it is not confirmed but there is a possibility that Abhishek’s father megastar Amitabh Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan may come to Jaipur to attend the game. Abhishek Bachchan will soon be joining good friend Shahrukh Khan on a global tour to promote their upcoming film ‘Happy New Year’. But before that he is devoting time to his team. Abhishek Bachchan and his wife are associated with the NGO ‘Magic Bus’ and will share a percentage of the profit made by the team with the NGO.

Industry sources have also revealed that Abhishek may also be part of a film on Kabaddi. While it is too early for details, a source close to the project has said, “Abhishek wants to make sure it’s the perfect kabaddi film. He’s on the lookout for the script.” The film will be an inspirational one on the lines of ‘Chak De India.’ We wish him all the best for his project.
