Abhay Deol to star in international TV series?
Bollywood actor Abhay Deol who is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, 'Happy Bhag Jayegi', is eyeing a role in an international television series. As per the buzz, the ‘Dev D’ actor has been trying hard to bag the role in medical drama ‘The Good Karma Hospital’.
A report in Mid-day stated quoting a source that Abhay auditioned for the show around four weeks ago and well-known casting director Seher Latif, who has cast for ‘The Lunchbox’ and ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ among others, had auditioned him. He hed even met the show’s director Steve November recently.
“The show is set in Goa and will feature both Indian and British actors. Artists like Ashish Vidyarthi, Darshan Jariwala and a number of Bollywood actors besides Abhay, have also auditioned for the role. At the moment, the makers are confused between Abhay and a theatre actor to cast in the lead role. The shoot will commence mid-August in Sri Lanka followed by Goa,” the source revealed to the tabloid.
‘The Good Karma Hospital’ is a contemporary series and follows a team of British and Indian medics as they cope with work, life and love at an over-worked and under-resourced cottage hospital.
Abhay's spokesperson has, however, denied the news.
Meanwhile, Abhay will be next seen in romantic comedy ‘Happy Bhaag Jayegi’ which also stars Diana Penty and Ali Fazal among others. Directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Anand L. Rai and Krishika Lulla under Eros International, the film is scheduled to release on August 19.
