Aamir Khan’s PK crew member arrested
Rajkumar Hirani’s movie PK starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma is in legal hassle. The unit director of the film was arrested after he was accused of hurting religious sentiments. Police arrested him and he was booked under section 295 A.
In one of the scenes of PK, it is shown that a man dressed as Lord Shiva was pulling a rickshaw in which two burqa-clad women were sitting. Police refused the divulge the name of the unit member arrested by them. He was arrested on Wednesday.
"A case under section 295 A (injuring or defiling place
of worship with intent to insult the religious of any class) and 153A
(promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place
of birth, residence, language) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered
against the unit director and the three actors at Kotwali police station,"
said a police official.
They were shooting at Chandni Chowk area on Wednesday. At first the people around thought it was a Ram Leela party but when they saw camera and the cast and crew, they could understand that it was a film shooting.
Aamir Khan claimed that it was a dream sequence of the film and they have all the legal papers and permission for shooting.The crowds shouted slogans outside the police station that the filmmakers were hurting religious sentiments, forcing police to take strict action. No case has been registered against Aamir Khan.
