Aamir Khan, Mukesh Ambani applaud Rani’s ‘Mardaani’


Rani Mukherjee starrer YRF’s ‘Mardaani’ trailer is receiving good response from every corner. Industrialist, Mumbai crime branch, cricketers and Bollywood celebrities are full of praise for Rani’s ‘Mardaani’. Based on child trafficking and directed by Pradeep Sarkar, ‘Mardaani’ is Rani’s first movie to get released post marriage to Yash Raj head honcho Aditya Chopra.

Aamir Khan is floored with Rani’s performance and action. The perfectionist sent a text to Rani praising her and said he really enjoyed the trailer. Aamir also shared the link of the trailer on Facebook.  

The actor had reportedly met Mumbai Police’s crime branch chief, Himanshu Roy, in December last year to understand the fundamentals of the job. “Rani tried to understand their body language, the way they talk, job profile and the manner in which they probe cases. So, the officials know that she is playing a cop in her next, and are awaiting its release,” says a source close to the actor.

Now after watching the trailer of the film, senior police officers have called the actor to appreciate her performance. When contacted, the YRF’s spokesperson confirmed that crime branch officials from across the country had called up Rani and applauded her.  

Delighted with the response, Rani says, "The response to the trailer has been exceptional. We have received positive feedback from all quarters. It has been overwhelming."

Industrialist Mukesh Ambani also impressed with Rani’s ‘Mardaani’ and praised Rani's action sequences and the content of the film. Mr Ambani, who is also a movie buff personally called up Rani to share his thoughts.

The list of admirers does not stop here. Cricketer Anjum Chopra and ace filmmakers including Karan Johar, Shekhar Kapoor, Raj Kumar Gupta and Ali Abbas Zafar also had word of praises for Rani. They all loved Rani's portrayal of a crime branch officer.

Karan Johar tweeted, “Rani kicks ass in #mardaani....super solid and hard hitting trailer!!!! So amazing to see her brilliance again!!!!

‘Mardaani’ is slated to hit the screens on August 22nd.
