Aamir keen to make Mahabharata, wish to play Krishna

Aamir Khan who is basking in the joy of ‘Talaash’ is keen to make Mahabharata on celluloid but he says that he lacks the courage to do so.

"My dream is to make Mahabharata and I don't know if I will be able to fulfil this dream or not. It is a very difficult dream and a scary dream, because every time I think about it I feel I won't be able to do it. I am unable to gather the courage," Aamir said at an event.

It's my dream and a nightmare too. It will take 20 years of my life to work on such a subject. I am apprehensive about it because people complain that I take three years to make a film," he said on the sidelines of Agenda Aaj Tak's session 'Dil Chahta Hai'.

"It is such a huge responsibility. I don't know if I will be able to fulfil it or not. This subject has been in my heart from a long time," he added.

Asked what character he would want to play from the epic story, the 47-year-old said: "My favourite character is Karna. But I feel I won't be able to do that role. I don't suit the character. I think I would suit the role of Krishna. My mom used to call me Krishna when I was a kid and like him, I was also surrounded by girls."

Whether it is supporting anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare or highlighting social issues through his TV debut 'Satyamev Jayate'. Aamir always comes forward for any social cause, "Being an entertainer or a creative person, it's my social responsibility to build the social fabric and a grace in the society.

I am not a political person because I have no interest in politics.

I strongly feel that I should contribute for a social change through my craft," he said.
