A.R Rahman to perform live in India

Ace musician cum singer cum song writer A R Rahman is all set to perform live in India after a gap of 20 years. He is planning for a one month musical tour. It will be a musical treat for his fans.

Rahman will be performing in four cities. They are Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. His tour will begin from 1st October and will get over by 27th October. On 1st October, he will be performing at the salt lake stadium. On 12th October, he will be performing at the Indira Priyadarshini Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Rahman’s next musical destination will be Jaipur. On 20th October, he will perform at the Bhawani Niketan Education Trust, Jaipur. This will be followed by the performance at Ahmedabad's Sardar Patel Stadium on 27th October. This will be his last stop for the live performance tour.

Before this, A R Rahman will be doing a live stage performance at All Phones Arena in Sydney, Australia on 24th August. It will be a technologically advanced concert. Apart from him, other artists will also be performing in Sydney. They are Sukhwinder Singh, Harshdeep Kaur, Neeti Muhan, Shweta Pandit, Ranjit Barot, Javed Ali, Mano and Vijay Prakash.

Talking to the reporters, Rahman said, “It is always fun and exciting to perform for fans. It will be an experience of music, joy and fun. I think everything has a right time. And it is so good that this is happening now. Three years back I didn't even know my future.”

He also said, “I want to closely interact with my fans while we celebrate my music on the tour. We are a great prosperous musical nation and tours like these are a great way to rekindle the connect with the audiences on a more personalised level.”

Rahman is quite optimistic that this musical tour will open doors for more musical events in the country as they are a means to connect with the fans and hence a means to celebrate music together.

A R Rahman was conferred with the title of ‘Mozart of Madras'. He gave the credit of his music to his fans. He said that his fans motivated him for more music.

He feels that a singer must have a creative ego.

“I feel any true artiste will have creative ego, without that your work can't be the best. But you have to be at war with your personal ego.” said Rahman.
