A tribute to the living legend, wall dedicated to Amitabh
As mark of a tribute to Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, a 'wall of fame' was dedicated to him at a function here on Friday.
The wall, erected as part of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) function scheduled to be held at Amsterdam next week, was inagurated by cine actor and Bachchan's wife Jaya Bachchan at the Fame Adlab in north-west Mumbai
The 'wall of fame' carries memorabalia related to the star as well as pictures of Amitabh, the trophies won and posters of some of his forthcoming films.
The posters give Bachchan, who is the brand ambassador for IIFA, provide fans of the star his glimpse as the angry young man in Zanjeer, the comic hero of Namak Halal, to the sensitive actor in Baghban and Black, organisers of the event said here today.
Similar 'wall of fame' designed to last permanently would also be set up at Amsterdam, the venue of IIFA.
Speaking on the occasion, Jaya, the advisory board member at IIFA, lauded IIFA in taking initiatives in taking Indian cinema across the globe. The wall, she said, would provide fans a glimpse of the movie king.
Shravan Shroff, advisory board member, said IIFA had endevoured to promote Indian cinema on global platform and the wall would help in taking a nostalgic trip into the legend of Indian cinema and was an apt tribute Amitabh.
The highlight of the IIFA weekend to be held in Amsterdam would include the premiere of the film Parineeta, a friendly cricket, a global business forum and the awards.
