U Me Aur Hum is Ajay Devgan’s directional debut. Though Ajay has an image of an action hero but in this film he has worked hard to create a melodious music. The music has been composed by Vishal Shekhar and lyrics have been scored by Munna Dhiman. Adnan Sami, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Vishal Bharadwaj framed the songs with their harmonious voice. Jee Lee, U, Me Aur Hum, Saiyaan, Phatte are the songs that sound quite soothing to the ears.
Jee Le-The album opens with a Spanish line. Jee Le starts with a slow note but gradually raises high. It sounds like a Latino Salsa kind of dance number. Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghosal crooned this modern number. The song reminds us of the track ‘Aaja Gufao Mein Aa’ from Aks though the tunes are distinctly different. It can be called a good peppy number. The song has also background singing. It narrates the hardships and future strategies of the characters. U, Me Aur Hum-The title track U, Me Aur Hum is very much soothing to our ears. It expresses all the emotions and feelings of the film. The song has been crooned by Shreya Ghosal. Finding the lyrics very interesting, Vishal Bharadwaj has also sung the slower version of the song. Since, it is the title track of the movie, it has been created with much care and the outcome is really marvelous. It remains in one’s mind for too long. And one will feel like crooning along with the song. Saiyaan-Listening to the Saiyaan number, you can easily make out that it is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. Her voice goes very well with the lyrics. Hearing to the lyrics, you can make out that it a teasing track and somewhat similar to ‘Gore Gore Se Chore’ from Hum Tum. As the song plays, you will have the feeling that a wife is complaining about her husband on a funny note. Phatte-It is a perfect Punjabi number. The song is an amalgamation of Bhangra and love sequence. You can call it another teasing number. It is a foot-tapping song and is a good effort from Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghosal. U, Me Aur Hum- The album concludes again with the slow version of U, Me Aur Hum. The beautiful lyrics of Munna compel Vishal to sing the song by himself. He sang the song in his own style. It is a good effort from Vishal. The song sounds quite relaxing and successfully depicts the mood of the situation. Listening to the music of U, Me Aur Hum, it would not be wrong to say that Ajay has left no stone unturned to make the music of the movie melodious. His effort of bringing out good music failed in his first production Raju Chacha, but in U, Me Aur Hum he has made a special effort to make the songs of the movie a compilation of love, betrayed, separation, tension and alliance. Hope, his attempt of creating a high-quality music turns to be fruitful and it does exceptionally well like his films.
