Pyare Mohan, this one is another comedy all set to envelope the audiences in a bout of laughter. The movie’s story revolves around two physically handicapped boys. It tells of their walk through life in a hilarious manner. Another story with the same storyline is Tom, Dick and Harry, which is slated to release around the same time as this one. This movie has been produced by Inder Kumar-Ashok Thakeria, the same duo that made the film Masti, which was quite a hit amongst the masses. The music has been composed by Anu Malik and the lyrics have been penned by Sameer. The film boasts of big singers like Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Anu Malik, Kunal Ganjawala and others.
‘Har Mohan Ki Koyi Radha’- Anu Malik’s first track on the album is sung by singers Udit Narayan and Shaan with support from Krishna, Earl and Anu Malik. This track has a mixture of a slight ‘qawalli', western style, Indian melody and rap elements. Unfortunately in spite of having a varied mixture the number is average and nothing phenomenal, considering it is the first track of the film. The song is about two boys believing that there is a girl for everyone including themselves and someday their turn will arrive too. The lyrics are mediocre, but one would have expected a much more foot tapping song from Anu Malik at the start of the album.
Score: 6/10
‘Tu Jahan Bhi Jaayegi-I Love You My Angel’- This is a soft sweet romantic track that has several versions, varying in length. It appears several times throughout the film. It has a light and sweet melody and the lyrics are simple and innocent. Kunal Ganjawala sings the original version and then the funky, groovy ‘Remix Version’. A love song where the hero is completely and madly in love with his lady, there are two shorter versions sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. This is perhaps incorporated in the background score of the film. The versions are perhaps justified in being repeated so many times as it is a tune that is remembered long after the song.
Score: 7/10
‘Rabba De Di Deewani’- This fast, spunky and peppy number is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Nikita Nigam. This is a complete masala track and quite zingy. The song is about the two girls zest for life and youth and how they want to live it to the fullest. It is a fast-paced number that has a good melody and great catchy beats. An extremely memorable number that will definitely hit the music notes.
Score: 8/10
‘Ek Rub Sach Hai’- This song that has a spiritual essence to it is sung by Krishna and Richa Sharma. This song is mixed with ‘sufi’ and western influences and beats which gives it a different situational feel. It is a dramatic song, which will perhaps have an effect if the situation is indeed dominated by high drama. But overall a song which is situational to the film.
Score: 6/10
‘Pyare Mohan’- This is the title and theme song of the film done by the band ‘Trickbaby’ which is quite well known after their hit hip-hop song ‘Right Here Right Now’ in ‘Bluffmaster’. This is a Hinglish track, which is sure to create a stir. It is a catchy hip-hop song that has good rhythm, nice vocals and interesting musical arrangements. This is a cool song and should have a promotional video to match it anytime soon.
Score: 7/10
‘Day By Day Mera Pyar’- This fun, masala track is sung by Sonu Nigam. It is a typical Anu Malik style composition. It’s an easygoing and laidback song. It’s a time pass song that is fairly entertaining.
Score: 6/10
Pyare Mohan is a decent musical album, a fairly time-pass album. It may not have super musical chartbusters, but may have a short presence on the charts. In the film, the music suits the picturisation and even the choreography is apt. This may not be music that you can listen to six months down the line and still reminiscence, but it is definitely an average album, which may hold your interest for a short span. So indulge even if it is only for a short while.
