Credits Music: Anand Raaj Anand, Vishal Shekhar Lyrics: Dev Kohli, Kumaar, Praveen Bhardwaj Vocals: Abhijeet, Adnan Sami, Alisha Chinoy, Anand Raaj Anand, Babul Supriyo, Kumar Sanu, Sanjay Dutt, Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Udit Narayan, Zubin Label: T-Series With KAANTE becoming one of the bigger musical blockbusters of 2002, many a fan have awaited the release of Sanjay Gupta's latest, entitled PLAN. The music has been done by Anand Raaj Anand, with a guest appearnace by Vishal Shekhar. With some huge names associated with the soundtrack, such as Alisha Chinoy, Anand Raj Anand, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet and Kumar Sanu, how will the soundtrack fare? Will it be better than Anand's previous KAANTE? Alisha Chinoy and Anand Raaj Anand open up the soundtrack with PYAAR AAYA. The song has an arabic upbeat style background to it, which only adds to the upbeat singing by Alisha and Anand himself. The song does have an ISHQ SAMUNDAR feel to it, but also has a very upbeat mood to it. Both Chinoy and Anand do a commendable job in renditions, and this song will definitely be a blockbuster on the charts for a long time. Watch out for this one! Rating: A HOTA HAI HOTA HAI has Kumar Sanu teaming up with Sunidhi Chauhan. While the song does have some great rendition talents, the song falls flat on its face due to the offbeat instrumentation by Vishal Shekhar. Overall, a song that will definitley take some getting used to! Rating: C Music favorite ADNAN SAMI returns to the music scene with KAISE KAISE. Supporting him is Sunidhi Chauhan. Last time these two came together it was for JANASHEEN, and the combo does not disappoint this time either! The song has a different feel to it, with a more sinister environment to the song. Overall, will take some time to get used to, but a decent song. Rating: C+ Next comes the blockbuster of the album, in two versions, AANE WAALA PAL brings forth a powerhouse of singers, beginning with Udit Narayan, Abhijeet, Babul Supriyo, Anand Raaj Anand and Zubin. The combination of singers does not disappoint, and it is a definite asset to a great soundtrack. The second version is a lot shorter, but does great as well in fulfilling its role. A great hit number! Rating: A- Kumar Sanu returns to the soundtrack for another romantic number KAL RAAT SE. Teaming with him is Shreya Ghoshal. While Sanu sounds in total form, Ghoshal sounds out of place, especially in tune with Anand Raaj Anand's background music. Lyrics by Parveen Bhardwaj are excellent. Anand also utilizes the guitar very well in the song. Overall, a good number! Rating: B+ Alisha Chinoy returns to the soundtrack for MEHBOOB MERE. The song is electrifying due to Alisha's simply sensual rendition. Anand Raaj Anand's musical arrangement does very well in the song, and complements the talented singer in her rendition. One interesting note for the song is the use of electronic rhythms by the music director, something which truly works! Definitely worth a listen. Rating: B+ Following the case from "CHODNA RE" from KAANTE, Anand Raaj Anand's AIM KAIM suffers from a huge hangover of the previous chartbuster song. However, one cannot help but be impressed when we hear Anand Raaj Anand, Shaan and Abhijeet join SANJAY DUTT in the rendition job for the album. One will await this number to see a positevely explosive picturization, but for now, enjoy the musical arrangements by Anand! Rating: B One cannot deny that Anand Raaj Anand wanted to repeat the success of his highly successful KAANTE, which can explain for the huge hangover of the latter album in this particular soundtrack. However, keeping this in mind, fans of the movie and Anand Raaj Anand will lap up the soundtrack, being amonst the higher quality albums of the year. A good album from Anand, but sadly, no Kaante again
