“Khiladi 786” is Akshay Kumar’s next offering. Joining him in this film is actress Asin Thottumkal. The film is releasing on the 7th of December. It has been gathering attention from the audiences for two things. One is that the film lies in the genre of action and that this marks the return of Akshay to the tag of ‘Khiladi’ and the other is the film’s music.
The music of this film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya who has also produced this film along with Akshay Kumar. The songs are groovy and have revved up the music charts. All the songs are peppy and different from each other. Normally a film has one or two songs being chartbusters but this film has had every song released beating the popularity of its previous release from its album.
The first song that got released had been ‘Balma’ that stars Akshay with “Bigg Boss 3” participant Claudia Ciesla. The song also shows a glimpse of Asin. The song is a tribute to the late veteran R. D Burman. The song is energetic and has cool beats and is sung by Shreya Ghoshal, accompanied by Sreeram Chandra. The song “Lonely” is addictive and fits in a Punjabi rap by Yo Yo Honey Singh.
“Long drive” is a rock song that blends desi beats. The song has been sung by Mika. The song also has a perky Bhangra remix version.
‘Saari Saari Raat’ has distinct vocals of that of Himesh Reshammiya. It is a harmonious and beautiful composition that has struck the right cords with the listeners.
“Hookah Bar” is another number that has the lively rhythms that will surely get it played on repeat at the nightclubs. The song has been sung by a trio of Vineet Singh, Himesh Reshammiya and Aman Trikha.
The title track “Khiladi Bhaiya” does justice to the film and its genre. The last song “Tu hari peer” is a combination of Punjabi folk and qawwali. The combination is unique and is sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Harshdeep Kaur, Chandrakala Singh and Javed Ali.
Akshay is overjoyed with his film’s music’s success and he thus stated, “I am told that each of the songs has been a chartbuster already. Wonderful, because Himesh had promised me that it would be the best music of the year whenever it would hit the stands. In such a scenario, it is all the more deserving for Khiladi 786 to see a ‘Mashup’ for itself.”
