Kal Kissne Dekha - Music Review
A debut film is always looked upon with higher expectation and if it comes from director Vashu Bhaganani who is associated with hits like Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Biwi No. 1, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai and Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, music is highly anticipated. With ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’ Vashu is launching his son Jackky Bhagnani, this add more to the expectation. If we look at his past tracks, we will see that music of Vashu’s film always speaks in volume. So now when he is launching his own son, how can he be compromising with the music?
In the long tenure of his filmmaking, Vashu has worked with many notable music composers. For this crucial film, he has roped in music composer Sajid-Wajid. Jackky Bhagnani, son of Vashu Bhagnani, Vaishali Deasi, granddaughter of Manmohan Desai along with director Vivek Sharma, musician Sajid-Wajid and producer Vashu Bhagnani. When all those personalities rope into one, anticipation rises regarding the story as well as the music.
Most of the songs of ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’ are peppy and youthful. Has a touch of freshness. Rendered by spectacular singers like Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Shreya Ghosal, Alisha Chinoy, Neeraj Shridhar, the songs of ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’ are pleasant hearing, a perfect Bollywood track.
There are altogether seven tracks crooned by versatile singers listed above. Here is a gist of the songs.
The album opens with 'Aalam Guzarne Ko'. The song is free-flowing and is not overloaded with high beats and rhythm. As it is very soft and moves smoothly, it has been able to reach out to the heart. Lyrics is very catchy and a perfectly tuned song sang by melodious Sonu Nigan and Suzy Q. Pleasant hearing.
Sajid-Wajid known for their jig-jag and fast number did include their special number here too. They again made the hero dance to some bhangra beat. The song ‘Soniye Billori’ has a Punjabi flavor and full of funfilled. It signifies some merry making environment with huge gathering and full of masti. Again Sonu and Suzy could be heard in upbeat mood while singing the bhangra number. Quite joyful.
Shaan and Shreya’s combination is a treat to the ear and for ‘Aasman Jhuk Gaya’ the duo gets behind the mike. The song has a serene feeling; romanticism is embedded in it and quite melodious to hear. Shaan’s tuneful voice and Shreya’s romantic tuning add flavor to the song. The number will work in favor of the film, it is a good inclusion.
‘Jashn Hai Josh Hai’ moves on fast track. Spice up by Neeraj Shridhar and Alisha Chinai, the song is raunchy and has a disco flavor. Highly instrumented and resemblance to yesteryears hit ‘Mehbooba’ of Sholay. The song sounds average but will not have any negative impact in the film.
“Tere Bina Lagta Nahin” is a sad song. It speaks about the separation of the two souls deeply in love. Though tragic, the song is quite energetic and soothing to the ear. It is one of the best tracks of the album, crooned by composer Wajid. He beautifully expressed the pain of the lover.
The track ‘Bin Tere Mar Javan Main’ has a classical touch, highly instrumental and speaks how much the couple loves each other. The song is quite melodious in the voice of Shreya Ghosal. The pain and separation can be well assessed from the song.
Finally, comes the title track of the film, ‘Kal Kisne Dekha’ with loads of oomph and energy. Jackky Bhagnani introduces himself in a grand manner grooving to this club number. It’s a high beat song and possesses oodles of energy and fun. It’s a foot tapping number sang by Shaan.
On the whole, the album of ‘Kal Kissne Dekha’ is a catchy album. If not all but maximum songs will entertain you. The songs are mostly youthful and appeal to the young generation. Bollywood buffs will love hearing the tracks.
