Jannat - Music Review

Good script, mediocre actors, simple set-up but very strong music is the success strategy of any Bhatt products. The songs of Bhatt’s film always hit the chartbuster and the result is that they get to taste the success of their films. Other than acting, music plays an important role to lift up Emraan Hashmi’s filmy career. If one recalls, his every film compromises of fabulous music and wonderful lyrics which compels the audience to hear the songs number of times.

Mukesh Bhatt adopted the same success strategy for his upcoming project Jannat as well. The movie has been directed by Kunal Deshmukh and lyrics have been penned by Sayeed Quadri and all the music has been composed by Pritam. Needless to say, he again casts Emraan Hashmi and debutante Sonal Chauhan is opposite Emraan. The film revolves around match fixing and betting in the world of cricket. There are eight soothing numbers, each sounds quite different from one another. The emotions and the feelings of the protagonist are well expressed through the songs. Here are the gists of the songs.

Haan Tu Hain – It has a Sufi flavor and mainly guitar and tabla been used. It runs on medium track and Rupam Islam has crooned the song. It is average to hear.

Door Na Ja – The song narrates the pain and agony of the protagonist. It makes one feel how much he loves his lady and how much he is heartened as she goes away from him. The song has been sung by Rana Mazumdar. It is a blend of rock and soft track. The song is nice to hear and has the capability to make the audience play repeated number of times.

Jannat Jahan – The song has been crooned by Rupam Islam and is written by Neelesh Mishra. It is the title track of the film and it tells the aggression of the actor. It narrates his present status and his tough journey. The energy of the song is commendable. It is a fast track, good to hear.

Zara Sa – It is a romantic song sung by KK. His voice suits the song well. The song is soothing to the ears and appeals one to hear repeatedly. It is a perfect love song and can be heard good number of times.

Zara Sa (Remix Version) – It is the remix version of Zara Sa. The lyric is similar to the original one but involves some extra beats. It can also be regarded as a party number.

Lambi Judai – The song has been crooned by Richa Sharma. It is a sad theme but played on a fast track. It tells the pain of the girl being separate from her lover. The music is again very fast and there is an application of various instruments. It reminds one the song Lambi Judai from film ‘Hero’.

Judai - Kamran Ahmed has lends his voice to the song along with Richa Sharma. The song came out beautifully. Kamran has also written the lyrics for the song.

Judai(Kilogram Mix) – As the name indicates Kilogram Mix, it means that it has a loads of beats and it sounds quite good. One can enjoy listening to the song.

On the whole, the songs of Jannat are good and can attract the audience for a long time. One can get to taste the flavor of western music as well as experience some regional folk music. It is Pritam’s offering who is known for producing quality music. He again proved his excellence. Lyricist Sayeed Quadri is as usual good. Hope, the music of Jannat been played by the mass today and for the days to come.
