Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? - Music Review

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge is a comical flick where the scope of good music is very less. The musical track is composed keeping in mind the theme of the film. The comic element is quite evident in the songs and most of the songs are situational. Starring Ajay Devgan, Konkona Sen and Paresh Rawal, Atithi Kab Jaoge seems very interesting and funny. Ajay Devgan’s flick not always deliver a good music and in this movie also lies the same case.

There are altogether five original songs and one remix. Music composers Pritam Chakraborty and Amit Mishra composed the music and Irshad Kamil has given the lyrics of the song. Raghubir Yadav, Ajay Jhingran, Rajneesh, Amit Mishra and Sukhwinder Singh crooned the songs. Most of the songs are devotional and classical based.

The album opens with ‘Aaja Aaja’ by Raghubir Yadav, Ajay Jhingran and Rajneesh. They are joined by chorus and the song is quite funnier. It is a fast track number and its remix number is basically played in various TV channels. Cannot be touted exceptional but the song is entertaining. It is classical based. The song is lively and clearly indicates the Pritam is behind the music of the song.

Next in the line is ‘Dohay’ by Amit Mishra. This song is deviated from the track and so it sounds extraordinary. It has some old popular proverbs and has a devotional touch. Again it is classical based and the chorus has been best used here. It sounds average and does not fall in humming category.

The next one ‘Sukh Karta’ is also a devotional song sung in praise of Lord Ganesh. It has Marathi lyrics with western musical arrangements. Again Amit Mishra took over the mike. It sounds situational.

In the next track ‘Jyoti Jalaile’ by singer Sukhvinder Singh, the mahima of Goddess Durga is reflected. Again it is a devotional song sounds very lively. It seems the protagonist is seeking the blessings of God to rescue them from some unwanted problem.

Last but not the least is the title track of the album ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?’ Pritam gave the task of crooning the title track to Amit Mishra. It’s a blend of Hindi and English lyrics and the combination has a feel good effect.

In the nutshell, the music of Atithi….cannot be rated good but it is very average. The numbers are not too attractive but situational. The music lovers won’t get much from the album. It also does not have the ingredients to hit the chartbusters.
