One of the most accomplished Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan returns in a love triangle 'Zameer - The Fire Within'. The film is made under the banner of "Eklavya Visions Pvt Ltd". Nitin Raaj Arayadath produces the film and Kamal directs the film. Ajay Devgan is paired opposite to Mahima Chaudhry and Amisha Patel. Amisha has negative shades. 'Zameer' is the remake of South star Mammothy starrer 'Mazhayethum Munpe'. In 1975 'Zameer' was made with Amitabh Bachchan and Saira Bano and in 90's 'Zameer' was made with Sanjay Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty. This much-delayed film is going to hit theatres in coming weeks. Contemporary music directors Jatin-Lalit and Nikhil-Vinay compose the music. "Pardesi Pardesi" is the best composition of the album as it has melodious voices of Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik and folk singer Sapna Awasthi. Jatin-Lalit's compositions fare better than Nikhil-Vinay's. The album has seven soundtracks in the voice of Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Babul Supriyo, Anuradha Paudwal, Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Shreya Ghoshal. Experienced lyricist Sameer has rendered the lyrics. Original soundtracks are on T-Series.
"Tum Kitne Bechain Ho" is love duet sung in romantic mood by Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal. The song explores the thirst and eagerness of lovers to meet each other. The soft romantic voices of Sonu and Anuradha Paudwal set the mood of the song. The Nikhil-Vinay's music is stale and lacks penetration. A usual duet heard many times in many films.
"Pardesi Pardesi" is undoubtedly the best composition as it reminds of famous hit single "Pardesi Pardesi" of 'Raja Hindustani'. The Jatin-Lalit music is melodious and the beats are catchy setting the mood of the song. Kumar Sanu shines bright as sun in this syrupy composition as Alka Yagnik sings in tandem. Folk singer Sapna Awasthi adds folk touch to the song as it begins with her voice. Kumar Sanu's is one of the best compositions in recent times as his voice sprinkles fragrance in air in this romantic duet. Jatin-Lalit deserves full points for this.
"Tere Pyar Ne Deewana" is a fast paced duet sung by Babul Supriyo and Alka Yagnik. A usual duet song offers nothing new, as the music too sounds stale and outdated. It's run of the mill stuff by lyricist Sameer as the words fail to color it.
"Kum Nahin Kisi Se" is a fun-loving college girl song sung in a frolicking way by Kavita Krishnamurthy. Kavita's voice has matured in years as this time she sings a chirpy composition describing the emotions of young bubbly girl. Despite the fact that this is a fun loving composition the music fails to impress. Beats are not catchy and lyrics are very ordinary.
"Dil Ye Dua De" is a sentimental composition by Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthy. The highlight of the song is the fusion of classical carnatic music and trendy western music that is infused in the melody of the song. Jatin-Lalit's is impressive this time as the voices of Udit and Kavita make it acceptable. Sameer's lyrics are better this time and sound meaningful.
"Zindagi Ke Faisle Main" is a sad sentimental song rendered by Udit Narayan. Udit sounds good but this song does not fall in the cadre of his timeless melodies like "Priya Priya" from the super hit film 'Dil' made in 90's. The song explains the vicissitudes of life as the tear jerking voice of Udit makes the mood pensive.
"Dil Ke Badle Dil To" is a slow paced duet by Babul Supriyo and Shreya Ghoshal. Babul and Shreya's voice goes in tandem with the music of the song. Praveen Bharadwaj composes the lyrics of the song. Nikhil-Vinay's music sounds ordinary.
In a less expectation and low profile film like 'Zameer - The Fire Within' two music composers have managed to give ordinary compositions as one expects better results from the music. To make it commercially viable, T-Series have infused seven additional soundtracks from latest films and albums.
