Yamla Pagla Deewana 2
‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ is an all-in-all comedy movie with strong tadka of few brilliant action sequences by the Deol family. Has to be so, where our loving ‘Sunny paaji’ and his ‘dhai kilo ka haath’ are concerned, action scenes are inevitable. Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, the film is a sequel to the 2011 hit movie, Yamla Pagla Deewana.
The lead actors are father Dharmendra and sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. The lead actresses are Neha Sharma and Australian model turned actress Kristina Akheeva. With this movie, Kristina is making her debut in Bollywood. The film released on 7th June 2013.
In this sequel of ‘Yamla pagla Deewana’, the father-son duo, Dharam Singh (Dharmendra) and Gajodhar (Bobby Deol) move to London and continue to be cons. They cheat and rob disciples pretending to be priests and in the process they meet Yograj (Anu Kapoor) a bankrupt. Dharam finds Suman (Neha Sharma) who is the daughter of Yograj, a ‘hen who lays golden eggs’. He wants her to marry his con son Gajodhar. Palwinder Singh (Sunny Deol) makes an entry as a manager of a club but actually he is a debt collector and draws a plot to catch the cons. He falls for Reet (Kristina Akheeva). The story, thus progresses with Palwinder trying to catch cons and cons coming up with plans to beat his ideas.
The story seems loosely knit with many holes and the potential of talented actors like Anupam Kher and Johhny Lever has not been utilized properly. Johhny seems throwing humor on the screen which backs off and keeps you wondering what he meant and you start questioning the need of that scene.
Look-alike of salman Khan is shown in his avataar of Dabangg who tries to tickle funny bones and guess what, he succeeds! Orangutan is also introduced to fill the gap in the script but leaves you wondering if the poor fellow can do justice to the role.
The action sequences are powerful and entertaining. The music of the movie is very Punjabi and there are good dance numbers.
As far as the individual casts are concerned, they have sincerely done their part. Sunny Deol beautifully slips into different moods of an angry man to a romantic lover to a humorous guy.
Dharmendra seems totally engrossed in his role and Bobby Deol has also done a good job. The two charming actresses set the stage on fire with their dance moves and acting wise they are decent.
One can expect a good
opening business from ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’. The movie is worth a watch
to get that necessary dose of laughter.
