U Me Aur Hum

U Me Aur HumKajol and Ajay are happily married couple for nine years and Ajay’s directional debut U Me Aur Hum gives an idea about the secret of their happy marriage. The film revolves around problems and happiness of a married couple and shows how one can stand as a strong pillar to support the other at the time of crisis. They tried to input some real life fact to the story and it is highly noticeable. Ajay shows in this film what makes a relationship move on in spite of so many hurdles.

Ajay had already established himself as a great actor but when it comes to direct films, he proved himself even better than an actor. He showed his prowess of directing films too. He handled every angle with ease and hence given birth to a masterpiece. His direction is above the mark and it seems that he is very clear about his work and had done a huge brainstorming to bring out a good film. His direction is commendable and can be compared to  any skilled directors. 

The story revolves around Pia, Ajay and their friends. Ajay and Kajol’s pair looked charismatic even long after Dil Kya Kare. They are the first married couple who reunite onscreen together after nine years but showed a sizzling chemistry. Ajay () is on a cruise with his friends -- Nikhil (Sumeet Raghavan) and Reena (), unhappily married pair, and Vicky (Karan Khanna) and Natasha (Isha Sharwani), happily unmarried duo. Ajay () saw Pia (Kajol) on cruise while she was serving drinks and he instantly fell for her. Pia at first thought him to be a flirt but gradually she started liking him. He tried to win over Pia’s heart by secretly peeping into Pia’s note book. But he made a clean breast to her. After serious thought, Pia returned to Ajay and they got married.

But life is not a bed of roses and they started facing problems few months after wedding, when Pia is diagnosed with Alzheimer. She gradually began to lose her memory. Ajay himself was a physiatrist and he could realize Pia's condition very well. Pia gave birth to a baby boy in such situation and life became more worsen. She unknowingly went to harm herself as well as her child. It showed how the couple tackles with such situation and kept their love alive.

The story line is very strong but the first part is dragged to long. The second half is serious and interesting. The concept is new but it would be better if he would minus some entertaining portion and concentrate more on the main theme. The screenplay by Robin Bhatt, Sutanu Gupta and Akarsh Khurana is topnotch. Ashwani Dhir's dialogues touch the core of the heart. Vishal Bhardwaj's music may not hit the chartbusters but it is melodious and soothing to the ears. Aseem Bajaj's cinematography is up to the mark. Monty Sharma's background score is effectual.

Talking about the performance, Kajol had again proved her prowess in handling any story with ease. Her performance deserves huge round of applause. is as usual superb. He had handled direction and acting quite well. Sumeet Raghavan is fine, is fabulous, Isha Sharwani and Karan Khanna are ok. In a nutshell, everybody had given their best and Ajay as a director has been able to showcase their positive points.

On the whole, U Me Aur Hum is a fabulous offering from a debutante director who had well defined the secret of a successful marriage. Looking at his directional skill, we can say that Ajay is a good director in the making and in coming days he will be counted amongst the top most directors of Indian cinema. Hats off to him!
