Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta - Movie Review
Pravesh Bhardwaj’s Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta created ripples not because of the star cast, script or budget. All the hype is due to the female protagonist Aruna Shields who posed nude in a particular sequence. The film deals with an extra-marital affair and much inclined towards art film. It is most likely an adult film and would appeal some section of the mass only. The film resemblance to ‘Jism’ because of the cheating angle and also can be drawn a line parallel to ‘Titanic’. The film does not have popular star casts but it gathered immense controversy due to Aruna Shields’s bare act.
Set in London, the film speaks about disloyalty of the respective partners. It is about treachery and hatred. The couple interchanged their love partners. Sakhi Mehta (Lucy Hassan) had an extramarital affair with Karan Singh (Naved Aslam). Knowing their partners cheating them, Karan’s wife Neera Singh (Aruna Shileds) gradually develops interest for Sakhi Mehta’s husband Ashwin Mehta (Prashant Narayanan). Ashwin is a painter and his love for Neera goes beyond the boundary line. He draws a naked portrayed of Neera. Ashwin and Neera find solace in each other’s company.
The film has got some intense lovemaking scenes and surprisingly, it has been passed by the censor board. The film is very hot on net as the nude scene and the intense lovemaking scenes are downloaded like hot cakes. The female protagonist has joined the league of Nandana Sen who posed nude for a particular scene in ‘Rang Rasiya’ and item girl Sherlyn Chopra who recently posted a naked picture of her on the social networking site, Twitter’.
This is director Pravesh Bhardwaj’s directional debut and in his debut film, he has shot some intense scene. Shujaat Hussain Khan’s ghazal based music is a wasteful. The film could not do justice with it.
Speaking about performances, Prashant Narayanan, Naved Aslam, Aruna Shields and Lucy Hassan all played their part well. They understand their role and portrayed up to the mark.
In the nutshell, Mr. Mehta Mrs Singh turns out to be boredom. It is a passable one. Not worth watching.
