Kambakkht Ishq - Movie Review

Kambakkht IshqIf filmmaking is all about shooting at exotic locations, including 4-5 odd songs, casting successful star casts, doing dare-devil stunts, signing Hollywood stars then anyone can try their hand in this arena. ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is nothing but a film to laugh at. All hype surrounding the film fall flat and the film turn out to be a massive disaster. ‘Tashan’ is a major fall out and ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is one step ahead of that. No logic, made without any thought. Akshay Kumar tried to compensate his flop with the film but fail to achieve his goal. Kareena Kapoor’s skin show also fail to save the film from drowning.

The first 15 minutes was gripping, the later and middle part was intolerable. You will feel like getting up from your seat but the money that you have invested on the ticket stop you from moving out of the theatre. Ample money has been invested but everything has been wasted.  It is neither comic nor serious. It will not make you feel laugh or cry. It is a total brainless script. The film lacks in all department. If you really want to watch the movie then put your brain back home. Style quotient was very high.

Sabbir Khan’s intention was to provide 2 hrs full entertainment to the audience but failed to do so as the film lacked in logic. It speaks about two different genders unable to tolerate one another. The one is the most sought-after stuntman in Hollywood named Viraj Shergill (Akshay Kumar) and the lady is a model working to become super model, her name is Simrita (Kareena Kapoor). Both Viraj and Simrita carry a bad opinion regarding their opposite gender. Viraj had the feeling that girls are good for nothing and they are only for sex and love making while Simrita feels that boys are dogs, good for nothing. The duo did not believe in love and marriage. The two meet at Viraj’s brother Lucky’s (Aftab Shivdasani) and Simrita’s best friend Kamini’s (Amrita Arora) wedding and after that very often they cross one another’s path.

Almost half hours dealt with Viraj and Simrita’s teasing one another and their rivalry. The story moves forward with their nock-jhok and finally ends up falling in love. The film has some stupid scenes as well. For instance, Simrita operating Viraj and leaving behind the watch inside his stomach and getting into physical relationship to bring out the watch is a pure flop show.

Performance wise, neither Akshay nor Kareena was promising. Both disappoint with their performance. Aftab and Amrita was a wastage. Kiron Kher and Javed Jaffrey have a small role to play.

The dialogues are of cheap quality, music was not at all ear-soothing, lyrics are also horrible.

On the whole, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is a horrible film to watch. A poor show. No grip and no thrill. It will be better to skip the film.
