Kai Po Che
Bollywood has been evolving, new idea, new experiment, new crave, new requirement is giving rise to classic cinema. Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Kai Po Che’ which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s famous novel ‘The 3 Mistakes Of My Life’ is a classic and ode to friendship. A simple theme told in a very simplest way. ‘Kai Po Che’ was one of the highly awaited movies and after watching the film we can say the wait is worthy.
‘Kai Po Che’ is an amalgamation of love for cricket, religious riot, friendship, sacrifice, hardship, youth confusion etc. More or less the movie stick to the novel, the characters and the plot line is very similar to the written words. The backdrop of the movie is Ahmedabad 2002, the infamous Gujarat riots.
It is about three very close and ambitious friends played by new buddies Sushant Singh Rajput and Amit Sadh along with Rajkumar Yadav. Ishaan (Sushant Singh Rajput) is a happy go lucky and cricket-loving guy. He is spirited and carefree and his not willing to do any work makes him worthless before his family. He always gets scolding from his family for not doing any work. His friend Govind (Rajkumar Yadav) is opposite to him. He always thinks twice before making any decision. Omi (Amit Sadh) is a true devotee of Ishaan. For him Ishaan is everything. Govind decided to open a new business then going for job hunting. Cricket is worshiped in Indian and the trio decided to open up cricket academy to create bright sporting stars of tomorrow. Omi gets financial help from his maternal uncle.
Eventually, Ishaan meets a very talented 12-year-old boy named Ali Hashmi. He found immense talent on Ishaan. He gets the purpose of his life. He trains the boy with sheer determination but things turn ugly due to the Gujarat earthquake in 2001 and then the 2002 post-Godhra riots. The riot break their friendship. Ishaan’s support for Ali and his community and Omi’s anger on losing his parents at the riot shattered their friendship.
Abhishek Kapoor who showed strong friends bonding in ‘Rock On! has shown true love for friends and their sacrifice in ‘Kai Po Che’. Abhishek Kapoor has proved that a new comer can pull a powerful script flawlessly on its shoulder. 'Kai Po Che’ is a very refreshing story no show off, no making. Speaking about performances, Sushant Singh Rajput made a very effortless debut. He performed brilliantly. Amit Sadh after a failed debut ‘Maximum’ makes a promising comeback with ‘Kai Po Che’. Rajkumar Yadav leaves you speechless.
‘Kai Po Che’ is a brilliant piece of work, its cinematography,
dialogues is touching. This iwill surely get good position in 2013 awards events. A
