Haal-E-Dil - Movie Review

If he or she believes love is life and is the highest pinnacle of life then it is a great task to study the Haal-E-Dil (State-Of-Heart) of that person mostly when she has to select any one of the two persons of contrasting nature, both equally dear and when they both love her from the core of their heart.  Love, love and only love is spread all over the entire script of Haal-E-Dil but regretfully we have to say that it is a love story without soul and without feel. It has spoken many lovable things, expressed many feelings and sent many messages but poor scripting has taken the film steps back rather approaching to one’s heart.

The exotic location is a treat to the eyes and music is soothing but unfortunately the positive points are overshadowed by negative clouds and the film disappoints all. The promos were catchy and had a complete feeling of love, passion and emotions but ultimately it turned out to be a poor show. It was a unique opportunity for the newcomers to showcase their talent but storyline itself did not have any impact and therefore all the effort of the debutantes ended in smoke. It is yet another fall out of year 2008.

It is a story of Sanjana [Amita Mangat], for whom love is virtuous and holy. For her love is another term of life. It is a story of Shekhar [Nakuul Mehta] who falls in love after every few seconds but still longing for true love. It is a story of Rohit [Adhyayan Suman] he who believes in love from the bottom of his heart and can go to any extend to acquire his beau. The story takes turn in a train journey when Shekhar falls in love with his next seat girl Sanjana. His journey to North India straightway leads to Sanjana’s heart. Their journey is filled with all sorts of uncanny incident where they also get to encounter with Veerappan.

With the conclusion of the film, Sanjana was shown struggling in taking perfect decision as whom to chose her life partner, her perfect love Rohit or the perfect stranger Shekhar.  She tussles within herself as whom to select.

Kumar Mangat who is known to offer films like, Blackmail and Raju Chacha had beaten up badly this time for the poor script. At times, you will feel so boring that you feel like to raise from their seat and walk out of the theatre but the money that you spent on ticket will compel you to stick to your seat. Music is the x-factor of the film and its compilation with the panoramic location will make it more soothing to the ears.

As far as acting is concerned, all the three new debutantes played their part well and have given their best. All of them have a bundle of energy and put their heart and soul to enact their part flawlessly and their hard work is noticed. Amita Mangat acted finely though similar in age; she looked much older to her co-stars. Her make-up and style is horrible, less credit goes to her stylist.

Generally speaking, Haal-E-Dil is a love story whose sequences will remind you about many past love stories of Bollywood. It is like old wine in a new bottle, same ghita-pita romance and uninteresting expression of love. The film has freshness in terms of locales, songs and newcomers but does not seem extraordinary in any department. Regretfully, Haal-E-Dil will be a major fallout at the box office.
