Golmaal Returns

Golmaal ReturnsDirector Rohit Shetty took two years time to come up with the idea of making a Golmaal series. Some old and few new actors gave their nod to be part of the flick on looking at the success of Golmaal. But the actors now are thinking to rub their nose on the floor as the film comes nowhere closer to the massive entertainer Golmaal. The film falls short in many departments and it fails to carry on with the success factor.

No intelligent humor is incorporated in it. It is totally brainless product without any sense. The director has cast notable actors like , Kareena Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade but they are all wasted. Their talents are not properly utilized and they are all fritter away. Starting from screenplay, direction to dialogue, everything is pathetic. As it is well promoted, it will able to drag some audience to the theatre, otherwise the theatre would remain vacant.

Golmaal is another example of the fact that it is the script that matters and not the powerhouse of star casts. If the script has loopholes then no one will be able to save any flick from being drown. Similar is the case of
. The film has not thrill, no intelligence, no brain work and no creativity. Everyone has showed their naiveness in making this dim comic flick. Just to see Kareena, people may stick to their seat. What makes totally non-sense is the incorporation of Ekta Kapoor’s saas bahu saga which carries no meaning.

The story goes as Gopal (
) and Ekta (Kareena Kapoor) is couple. Stays with them is Gopal’s sister Esha (Amrita Rao) and a dumb brother in law Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor). One unfortunate night, Gopal happened to spend night with a young lady, Mira Nair (Celina Jaitley) on a yacht while rescuing her from goons.

Gopal knows very well about the suspecting nature of his wife and in order to hide from his wife about the last night incident, he lied his wife that he had spend the night with his friend by the name Anthony Gonsalves. But as we all know lies have short lived, one particular day when she happened to meet the real Anthony Gonsalves, Ekta came to know that Gopal was lying. Gopal to save himself also ropes in his junior, Laxman (Shreyas Talpade) in the game.

But when the investigating officer Madhav (Arshad Warsi) whom Gopal hates found a corpse of his office employee at the location where he had saved Meera, it added to the problem and then more lies multiplied. To hide one lie, Gopal went on telling lies after lies. On finding the corpse, the real Golmaal started and everything turned out to be ulta-palta.

It’s a total Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade’s flick. They have been able to develop some interest. Kareena Kapoor and
did not match as husband and wife and their performances were mediocre. Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade again showed that they are comedy genius. At some instances, dialogue is enchanting. Music is not promising.

On the whole, Golmaal Retuns is a poor show. Rohit Shetty drowned as a director as he has not been able to entertain the audience. Sorry to say but the film is a great debacle.
