Dum Maro Dum

Set in Goa, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ is a treat to watch as the suspense persists till the end and holds the interest of the audience. The story basically deals with drug mafias that spread drugs all over Goa. The film gives one a clear picture as how things work and the means in which drugs spreads all over and pushes young and old to death.

The story revolves around Assistant Commissioner of Police Vishnu Kamath (Abhishek Bachchan) who was assigned with the task of demolishing drugs and drug mafia from the state. Vishnu took the task as his mission as he has been a victim of this bad addiction. Vishnu lost his family due to a collision with a car of a drug addict.

The drugs were run in Goa by a mafia named Lorsa Biscuta (Aditya Pancholi). There are many young people working under Lorsa and two among them were Lori (Prateik Babbar) and Zoe (Bipasha Basu). Zoe and Lori in order to earn quick bugs entered into Lorsa’s gang. Zoe is also a girlfriend of Joki (Rana Daggubati), a club singer. Unaware of Lora’s actual business, Joki introduces her to Lorsa.

When Kamath went inside the gang, he found that it doesn’t end with Lorsa. The mastermind behind the entire episode is Michael Barcelona. How Vishnu captures Barcelona and ends his dynasty forms the rest of the story.

The film opens very interestingly, introduces the characters quickly. At first, it was little murky and confusing but as the film moves forward things come vivid clear.

Speaking about performances, Abhishek Bachchan was awesome. His dialogue delivery and facial expressions was commendable. He has showed a mature acting. Bipasha Basu played her part well and Prateik Babbar was equally impressive. Aditya Pancholi is top-notch and Govind Namdeo is equally good. The new boy on the row Rana Daggubati definitely leaves an impact.

In the music department, ‘Dum Maro Dum’ scores high. Deepika’s hot item number leaves a mark. The cinematography of the movie was very impressive. Goa has been well lifted.
