Desi Boyz - Movie Review
First time director Rohit Dhawan brings a comic caper ‘Desi Boyz’ with two handsome guys Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. Their last comic caper ‘Garam Masala’ impressed the audience and again they are back with another exceptional comedy ‘Desi Boyz’. Akshay Kumar always has a great comic timing but this time the fun doubles as John expertise himself in the comic department. Both Akki and John compliment each other.
The film is exceptional in every department except the plot. The plot is bit weak. The main attraction of the movie is two handsome hunks John Abraham and Akshay Kumar. Pritam’s joyful music, Natarajan Subramaniam's awesome picturisation, dynamic screenplay and funny dialogues, beautiful graphic work, exotic locations are the plus point of the movie. First time director Rohit Dhawan has been able to extract the best out of the two heroes. Rohit Dhawan is on the way to make things big like his father David Dhawan.
The movie is about two jobless guys who struggle to survive during recession. Both have their own priorities and they struggle to find source to fulfill their needs. John and Akshay had been able to inject laughter to the show with their best coming timings.
The story revolves around two friends Jignesh a.k.a Jerry (Akshay) and Nick (John.). Jerry works as a security guard and Nick works as a banker in London. Jerry has a responsibility to look after his sister's orphan son, while Nick needs money to maintain his high-class girlfriend (Deepika Padukone). They were in immense trouble when they lost their job. Jerry doesn’t know how to maintain his nephew’s bills. To get rid of the problem, they decided to work for Sanjay Dutt. They became male escorts to Sanjay’s Desi Boyz. What happens to these two guys in Sanjay’s company forms the rest of the story.
Speaking about performances, John Abraham showed his great comic timings in the film. He acted superbly in the movie. Akshay Kumar is as usual fantastic. He has delivered his best. Deepika Padukone was awesome. With every film, her acting improved. Chitrangadha Singh was equally good.
In the nutshell, Desi Boyz will bring a good box-office return. Basically, the film will be loved by the young generations. They won’t disappoint you. It is good entertainer.
