Delhi Belly


In the recent past, many films were made based on the youths. What is most interesting about each of them is that every film has its own specialty. They speak about different aspects of the present youth which was never told before. ‘Delhi Belly’ is also purely for the youth. It is a comic thriller, smarty evokes humor and is purely an adult watch.

Delhi Belly, starring Imran Khan, Vir Das, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Shenaz Treasurywala and Poorna Jagannathan, has been directed by Abhinay Deo and produced by Aamir Khan. Yes, when a film carries a tag Aamir Khan than automatically expectation level soars high. 

The script of ‘Delhi Belly’ is water-tight and humor has rightly been used.  Use of comedy is a thriller is a difficult job but Abhinav Deo’s flawless direction and Akshat Verma’s loopholes writing steal the show.

The film talks about three friends, Tashi (Imran Khan), Arup (Vir Das) and Nitin (Kunaal Roy Kapur). They three are flat mates and unknowingly involve in a crime. Tashi is a journalist who is all set to marry a glamorous and beautiful girl name Sonia (Shenaz Treasurywala). Arun’s (Vir Das) life has been made tragic by his boss and adds to his bad luck, he was dumped by his girlfriend. Nitin (Kunal Roy Kapur) is a photo journalist, a big foodie who least knows that one day he would land in a big trouble. Somayajulu (Vijay Raaz) is an underworld don who is after the three guys to recover his diamonds.

The story takes a bizarre turn which totally grips the interest of the audience. It is a film that Indian audience hardly gets to taste over the years. The film is outrageous, humorous, thrilling and includes raunchy dialogue. ‘Delhi Belly’ has been smarty executed with no loop holes.

Inspired by the youth comedies of Hollywood, the makers have made it fit for the Indian audience. Keeping in mind the taste of the Indian audience, the script has been modified. The film will be an inspiration for many young makers to come in future. Every scene is very engrossing and you won’t feel to miss it.

The flawless direction, air-tight script, soothing music by Ram Sampat, eye-catching  cinematography that lifts the perfect picture of Delhi and funny dialogues are the factors that makes ‘Delhi Belly’ a film not to be missed. In musical department, 'DK Bose' stands tall among the youth.

Speaking about performances, the chemistry of three guys are outstanding. The comic timing of the three makes the film a treat to watch. Imran Khan was at his comical best. He has delivered his best and can be concluded that it is the best of his work that he has done so far.  Vir Das was incredible. He has delivered a power-packed performance. Kunal Roy Kapur is a treat to watch. He was full of fun.

The stupendous performance of the threesome and astounding work of the director, writer, cinematographer, music composer and others make the film a must watch among the youths.
