The film Plan had been in news (much before it's promos appeared online) for quite some time now. The movie first came into light when it's mahurat shot was taken at the IIFA Awards 2002.
Plan is the second production of White Feather Films (the production house of Sanjay Gupta and Sanjay Dutt). It marks the directorial debut of Hriday Shetty, son of the famous yesteryear villain Shetty (who appeared in every other Amitabh film) and brother of Rohit Shetty who recently directed Zameen. Hriday has assisted Sanjay Gupta in all his seven films, from Aatish till Kaante.
From its very look, Plan appears to be another underworld action flick. To it's very contrary; the director confirms that it's a complete comedy thriller. Those offended by the excess violence and expletive language in Kaante may be happy to know that Plan is a family entertainer. As the director puts in “We had written the screenplay and shot the film keeping in mind that family and kids will come to see it and enjoy it”.
When four strangers met in the compartment of a train, sharing their little plans about their future, little did they knew that Mumbai had other plans for them. Bobby (Dino Morea) had plans of becoming a superstar. Omi (Rohit Roy) had plans of catching up with the man who had robbed his father. Jai (Bikram Saluja) had plans of reuniting with his lost love. And Lucky (Sanjay Suri) had plans of getting lucky at gambling.
Their plans got of to a great start. And they started having the time of their life in Mumbai. Until they realized they were out of money. Whatever was left was put on Lucky's gambling abilities. They knew Lucky would never lose. And … Lucky lost! Now if they didn't pay their debtor's back, they would end up losing their lives.
Kidnapping the rich businessman who they had seen splurging money in a dance bar seemed like the best plan. It turned out to be their worst nightmare. The rich businessman turned out to be Musabhai (Sanjay Dutt), the man who controlled Mumbai's underworld.
Musa figured out that his own men were trying to get rid of him. And the four boys had actually ended up saving his life. His once upon a time friend, Sultan (Mahesh Manjrekar), had now become his worst enemy. Musa with the help of the four boys got back at Sultan. Musa sorted out the boy's problems and the boys returned the favor.
At the end of it all, Musa and Rani (Priyanka Chopra) had a plan for the boys. Hope they are ready for it.
The male dominated film also stars four Bollywood beauties. Priyanka Chopra appears in the role of a tapori girl. Sameera Reddy makes a cameo in a spicy item number. Riya Sen and Payal Rohatgi play the other two leading ladies.
Anand Raj Anand has composed the music of the film, which is a mix of commercial, upbeat and slow numbers.
The film is supposed to release in late December or early January. |
