Mere Dad Ki Maruti
Twenty-something Sameer is a brat who thinks he can get away with anything. When he lands a lucky date with 'Chandigarh Ki Shakira', Jasleen, he decides to sneak out his dad's brand new Maruti without a second thought. After a mad night at a pub, a fun drive around the famous gehri route and one peck on the cheek, Sameer ends up losing the car!
The car was meant to be a gift for his sister on her wedding and is probably the only thing his stingy dad, Tej Khullar ever spent money on. With only three days to find it, he must ensure his dad doesn't get a whiff of what he has done. Else, he will be turned into butter chicken.
Sameer's life will be turned upside down as he comes face-to-face with some insane characters like a bhai from chor bazaar, an old man with a rifle pointed at his nose and of course, the Chandigarh cops.
Will he manage to woo the girl of his dreams? Will he find the car? Will his dad find out?
Catch MERE DAD KI MARUTI in theatres this 15th March. It is sure to charge your batteries.
TEJ KHULLAR (Ram Kapoor)
Tej Khullar is the loud Punjabi father you don't want to have if you are a 20 something guy like Sameer. But if you're his elder sister, Tanvi, you'd absolutely adore him. The stingiest man in the world sports a fake Rado watch and fake gold chains, but decides to buy his daughter the only original thing he has ever bought, a Maruti car. Tej is a hardcore Maruti lover who decides to gift her Maruti Ertiga on her wedding day. And he wants to ensure that Sameer doesn't get his hands on it. Tej is convinced that Sameer is not his son. He believes Sameer was exchanged in the hospital during childbirth. He just wishes Sameer would grow up to be a man someday someone who he could stop calling 'Useless burger'.
SAMEER (Saqib Saleem)
Every time Sameer gets into trouble, he has an easy way to get out of it. This man with a plan is actually an over confident brat who thinks he can get away with anything. But that belief is challenged when he ends up losing his dad's car. A car that was meant to be his sister's wedding gift. Now, Sameer doesn't have much time to sort this one out. But he sure will have a plan.
JASLEEN (Rhea Chakraborty)
It's not Jasleen. It's JAZZLEEN! Self-proclaimed 'Chandigarh ki Shakira', Jasleen is the college bombshell, who knows she can get any guy she wants. A stunner to look at, the same cannot be said about her English speaking skills. She says stuff like 'you never said me' and 'same difference only'. In fact, she keeps calling Sameer a psychic for psycho. Sameer corrects her English and hides the fact that he doesn't have a car. He fears she will leave him the moment she finds out.
GATTU (Prabal Panjabi)
If there is one person who has been scarred by Sameer's useless plans, it's Gattu. Which is why, he has now become a fattu. He believes that girls spell trouble. Which is why he keeps saying, 'Bill Clinton ho ya Tiger Woods, saariyon ka the end ladkiyon ke wajah se hua hai'. But when his best friend, Sameer, gets into trouble, he stands by him, solid as a rock. A trembling rock.
HUSSAIN BHAI (Ravi Kishan)
He's someone you don't want to mess around with. Sameer and Gattu chance upon him in search of a stolen car in Chor Bazaar. Terrifying as hell, his voice is enough to scare the boys, and Jasleen. Hussain Bhai is not one who minces words, but the problem is more to do with his language. Not the bad words, but the chaste Urdu he speaks. He keeps referring to Sameer as 'Aashiq' and his car as 'Maashooka'. In his head, Hussain Bhai is a shayar in the garb of a bhai. Doesn't matter what he says, either way, you don't want to hear from this guy.
The music of the film is composed by Sachin Gupta and lyrics penned are by Kumaar, The film is slated to release on 15 March, 2013.
