London Dreams - Movie Preview

London DreamsLondon Dreams is about a rock band and therefore music is bound to be strong enough to justify the theme of the film. Director Vipul Shah never compromise with music and his earlier flicks are an example of his ear for good music and selection of eminent music composers. This time too he has roped in composer Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and signed lyricists Prasoon Joshi to pen down touching words.

The album has 8 original songs and 3 remixes.  The songs justify the film and singers like Vishal Dadlani, Roopkumar Rathod, Abhijit Ghoshal, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan, Zubeen Garg, Feroz Khan and Mohan landed their voice to the numbers. The album has got every flavor of music.  Vipul did not leave any scope for the music lovers to crave for more. Here lies the insight depth of the album.

The album opens with a rock song ‘Barson Yaaron’ with both the feeling of Indian and western. The song has a stage set up and will make the audience go crazy with its rock on feel. What make the song more interesting to hear is the inclusion of Hanuman Chalisa at the closure of the song. Vishal Dadlani and Roop Kumar Rathod are the two talented singers behind crooning this unique number. Great to hear two contrasting singers rocking together.

The second tracks sings ‘Man ko ati bhavey’ by Shankar Mahadevan. This song is a mixture of Indian and western vocals. It runs on fast tack but not at all striking to the ears and a big let down. It has a Bhojpuri touch also. The lyric of this song sounds confusing at the beginning but you will able to grasp it after repeated hearing. Very depressing over all, not up to the mark.

The second track follows with ‘Tapkey masti’, crooned by young Feroz Khan. The track has a Punjabi flavor but not completely based on it. It gets deviated from the Punjabi track and gives a unique combination of Punjabi and western. It is a foot-tapping number.

The next track that follows is the title song that goes ‘Khanabadosh’, it is highly energetic, foot-tapping, quite a thrilling number crooned by a new singer Mohan. The song is a wonderful offering and expected to rule the chartbuster. The new singer has done full justice to it and it’s a fun to listen to the track.

The fifth track goes as ‘Khwab Jo’, rendered by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shankar Mahadevan. It’s a song that everyone will like to listen as well as hum. Lyrics by Prasoon Joshi is absolutely touching and the above all the two versatile singers added life to the song. It has a steady flow.

The next track that follows is ‘Yaari Bina’ sung by Roop Kumar Rathod and Milind. Earlier many songs have been made on friendship and Yaari Bina also falls in this category. However, the song speaks about the binding between two friends. It has s Sufi touch. It starts and end beautifully leaving a remarkable impression on the audience.

The seventh track goes as ‘Jashn Jeet Ka’. The songs speaks about victory, joy of achievement, sung by Abhijit Ghosal, it has a rock touch with western instruments. It lyric is also touching and the track is worth listening.

The last but not the least track of the album is ‘Shola Shola’ rendered by Zubeen Garg. It is high on instrumentation but the song is average to hear. The key word ‘Shola Shola’ has been crooned by chorus.

On the whole, the album of ‘London Dreams’ is a mixture of good, medium and bad tracks.  ‘Barson Yaaron’, ‘Khanabadosh’ and ‘Khwab Jo’ are highly recommended. Let’s wait and see how much it will be liked by the music-goers.
