Salman Khan and Sajid-Wajid trio has resigtered hit after hit like Partner, Maine Pyar Kyun Kya, Tere Naam, Hello Brother and the long lists goes on. Again this trio is back again to create the same dhamaal. Director Rumi Jaffery has roped them for his latest offering, God Tussi Great Ho. How much momentum the music will draw is tough to say at this moment but yes some party numbers will surely energize the atmosphere.
The lyrical task has been given to two lyricists Jalees Sherwani and Shabbir Ahmed. They have not incorporated some extraordinary libretto in the songs but kept it quite average. It is like any other recent Bollywood numbers, less in lyrics but overloaded with heavy beats and rigorous sound track. The music is not captivating or ear-soothing and cannot lure the music- lovers to hear the songs repeated number of times. God Tussi Great Ho is a novel concept where in a very hilarious way shows how a common man meets God and how his problem doubles in figure on incarnation of the new avatar.
God Tussi Great Ho which is an adaptation of Hollywood flick Bruce Almighty has altogether five songs. Almost all of the songs sound similar and cannot be counted extra-ordinary that can make way to the chartbusters. Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghosal and Neeraj Sridhar have been roped to croon the songs.
It begins with Let’s Party, this is a party song and would bring you back in the same mood of ‘Its the Time To Disco’ of Kal Ho Na Ho and ‘Where’s the party tonight’from Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Shaan and Sunidhi exactly feel the party mood while crooning the number. The song does have the cult to set the dance floor on fire. Lyrics of the song has been penned by Jalees Shewani. There is no any novelty in the content but the funky words add to the excitement.
Soon the first party number is followed by Tujhe Aksa Beach Ghuma by Waajid and Amrita Kak. This is another peppy number having full of youthfulness. It is a fast number which electrify the atmosphere and make you feel tap your feet. But the song is not unique in any angle and cannot be played life long. Though all modern equipments are employed and it is overloaded with jikzak music, it has no feel and energy and soon you will feel like taking a break.
A title song is considered to be one of the most important elements of any film. It signifies many meaning and conveys the exact message that the film desires to. Sonu Nigam has been given the task to croon the title song as he is known to offer some hit title songs like Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. God Tussi Great Ho is also been sung by Sonu. The song does not belong to his category and therefore he fails to bring out the same pleasing effect. Shankar Mahadevan sings out the latter part of it.
The fourth track of the film is Tumko Dekha, it has an Indi-Pop rendition. Shreya Ghoshal and Neeraj Sridhar has took hold of the mike. The song sounds melodious in the tune of Shreya and is quite soothing to the ear and mind. Unlike other songs, it has an delightful impact.
The fifth track Lal Chunariya sounds almost similar to ‘Laal Dupatta’ from Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. After a long hiatus, again the two soulful voices of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik merge to croon this romantic number. Deven Shukla’s lyrical work is not deviated from the normal but it is the type of Alka and Udit . It is a comtemporary Bollywood number.
If God Tussi Great Ho happens to be a hit, its album will not have any contribution to the success of the film. The album can only be ranked mediocre and entice one to play very rarely.
