The main feature of Apne is that it will feature father Dharmendra Deol along with his two sons Sunny and Bobby together for the first time. The film has been directed by Anil Sharma and also stars Shilpa Shetty and Katrina Kaif. The music of the film is above average and has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya. The film revolves around a father and his two sons. It delves into the lives, aspirations and dreams of each of the three individuals. It also depicts family love, caring and sharing about each others hopes and dreams.
Baldev Singh (Dharmendra) was a proud man who once had many dreams and aspirations. He dreamt of being a boxing champion in the international heavy weight championship. He had even won a silver medal for India, but unfortunately his dream was never fulfilled due to several obstacles that came his way. Baldev Singh was a given a raw deal at the World heavy weight championship and this left him scarred for life. Nonetheless Baldev decided that he would one day fulfill his dream through his elder son, Angad (Sunny). He trained Angad in boxing and made him a world class player.
However in helping to make his father’s dreams come true, Angad’s own dreams and ambitions are pushed back. But now he also wants to fulfill his own goals in life and has some other priorities in his life too. Karan (Bobby) the younger son is a fine musician, but seeing his father in a dilemma and seeing him on the verge of loosing his lifelong dream, Karan decides to fulfill his father’s dream. But the family goes through a crisis when Karan steps in but is unable to fulfill his father’s dream as he has been seriously injured. So what will happen to Baldev Singh’s dream, will any of his son’s fulfill their father’s dream? Baldev is dejected and has even lost his will to live. So will the family come together in their time of crisis?
Apne is set to release on 29th June 2007.
