Vivek Oberoi is actor Suresh Oberoi’s son. He was born in Hyderabad on 3rd September in 1976. He attended Mayo College in Ajmer. He is the second of four siblings. He is nicknamed Rockstar. He is 5’10”.
Vivek studied acting in London where is he was spotted by NYC’s director who offered him a seat in the film acting course. He has a master degree in it. Vivek jumpstarted his career with Ram Gopal Varma’s Company (2002), co starring Ajay Devgan and Manisha Koirala. He played the role of Chandu, the gangster. The movie was a huge hit and touted Vivek as the next best thing. Next up was Road with Antara Mali and Saathiya(2002) with Rani Mukerji.
Vivek has won the Best Debut award for Company and the Best Villain award for “Shoot Out at Lokhandwala” in 2007 for his role of Maya Dolas. He has refused a role in Mani Ratnam’s Guru(2006).
Vivek has been linked with Rani Mukerji and Aishwarya Rai. His liason with Aishwarya Rai led to him souring relations with Salman Khan. He even held a press conference against Salman and said Salman harassed him. Recently he got married to Priyanka Alva.
He broke his leg while shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Yuva (2004). He is known for his social work. He won the Red and White Bravery award for rebuilding a village destroyed by the tsunami. He has two dogs named Duke and Ivy. He avoids drinking and smoking and even beverages like tea and coffee.
