While it is common for cine stars to change tracks from big screen to the small one; the reverse was unheard of until King Shahrukh Khan translated it into a reality. It is worth noting that Delhi based Shahrukh Khan, an M.A in Mass- Communication began his career in acting way back in 1990, with the serial “Fauji”.
His association with Hindi film industry started with his debut in the feature film ‘Dewana’ which had all the ingredients to click commercially. Apart from being a commercial success the film showcased his versatility; the art in which he was professionally trained by the theatre personality Barry John. Be it character acting or enacting the role of a lover boy or that of a psycho path, Shahrukh Khan had them all under his belt. His performance in films such as “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ)”, “Chak De India”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham” , “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and “My Name Is Khan” was not only successful in commercial terms ; but also secured critical appreciation.
Multifariously talented Shahrukh Khan was born on 2nd November 1965 to Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima. Khan was born and brought up in Delhi. Khan had his schooling in the prestigious St. Columbus School. He won the “Sword of Honour’’ for his overall excellence. He boasts of fourteen Filmfare Awards. His contribution to acting also won him the prestigious Padmashree award.
Even in his personal life, he boasts of being a good father and a husband. He is happily married to Gauri Khan. According to him he equally respects all his co stars. His controversies may include professional rivalries but he is free from rumours of romantic involvement.
