Born to Padmashri awardees Nargis Dutt and legendary Sunil Dutt, Sanjay Balraj Dutt a.k.a. Sanju baba first opened his eyes in the world was on July 29, 1959. He is 6’. He has 2 sisters. Namrata Dutt is married to former actor Kumar Gaurav and the other sister, Priya Dutt is an honourable member of the Lok Sabha.
Sanjay Dutt attended Lawrence School situated in Sanawar. In 1981, he debuted with his father’s film Rocky, which was moderately successful, but failed to establish him. But he savoured success in movies like Khalnayak, by Subhash Ghai, Sadak and Saajan in 1991, Naam(1986) with Kumar Gaurav. Finally, Vaastav by Mahesh Manjrekar won him the Best Actor Award. Subsequently, he won the Critics Award for his role in Mission Kashmir. Kaante in 2002 also won him an award. Sanjay Dutt has acted in numerous movies and has especially been loved in “Munnabhai M.B.B.S” (2003) and “Lage Raho Munnabhai”(2006).
Sanju Baba is known to be good friends with Aditya Panscholi, Mahesh Manjrekar and Sunil Shetty. He has also gone through a lot of ups and downs in his life. He had been in a Texas rehabilitation centre for his drug abuse after Nargis Dutt died. He was shockingly arrested under TADA for alleged involvement in the infamous 1993 Mumbai Blasts and for illegal possession of AK-47 rifles. Even, though he was cleared of the charges of his involvement, he still served a 6 year-sentence for the rifles. His first wife, Richa Sharma died of cancer, leaving behind a daughter Trishala. He was also married to Rhea Pillai. Now he is married to Manyata, with whom he has twins.
