Release of the film "Maine Pyar Kiya" in 1989 saw Salman Khan's successful foray into the commercial domain of the Indian film industry. "Maine Pyar Kiya" not only appealed to the pulse of the Indian audience but also made Salman Khan a common household name.

Born in 27th December 1965, to father Salim Khan and mother Salma, Salman Khan is the eldest of five siblings. Except for his sisters and mother rest of his family members are parts of the filmdom.
