When the stunningly handsome son of the scriptwriter Salim Khan was introduced in the film “Biwi Ho To Aisi in a supporting cast; little did the people realize that in Salman Khan we had a star, a versatile actor whose acting prowess would extend to as much as two decades.

Release of the film “Maine Pyar Kiya” in 1989 saw Salman Khan’s successful foray into the commercial domain of the Indian film industry. “Maine Pyar Kiya” not only appealed to the pulse of the Indian audience but also made Salman Khan a common household name.

Born in 27th December 1965, to father Salim Khan and mother Salma, Salman Khan is the eldest of five siblings. Except for his sisters and mother rest of his family members are parts of the filmdom.

Salman Khan is known for his masculinity with a brilliantly developed body. In spite of his physical toughness nothing can match the subtlety and softness of his mesmerizing eyes. His eyes are full of passion and romanticism which makes him stand out as a chivalrous hero. Besides “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun”, his success story includes films such as “Baaghi”, “Saajan” and the latest release “Dabangg”. Having won the prestigious Filmfare Awards for various supporting and leading roles, he also had his share of failure in “Auzaar”, “Jeet” and “Khamoshi”.

His volatile nature often made him the centre of controversy. Salman Khan’s break up with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, affair with Katrina Kaif leading to another break up and the hunting of endangered deer attracted much negative publicity and criticism.
