Ranbir Kapoor, said to be the next best thing in Bollywood, is the son of yesteryear actors Rishi and Neetu Kapoor. He is Raj Kapoor’s grandson and Kareena Kapoor’s cousin. He was on on September 28th, 1982 in Mumbai. He is 6’.

He was a student of Bombay Scottish and later on of Lee Strasberg Institute. He first starred in Karma in 1984. He has also worked as an assistant director in Prem Granth, Aa Ab Laut Chaley(1996) and Bhansali’s Black(2005).

His launch vehicle was Saawariya(2007) with Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam, for which he won the Best Male Debut award. The movie was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It flopped. Then, Ranbir came back with the commercially successful “Bachna Ae Haseeno” (2008) with Minisha Lamba and Bipasha Basu.

Ranbir has gone on to do both commercial and offbeat movies like Wake Up Sid (2009), Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani(2009) with Katrina Kaif and Rocket Singh- Salesman of the Year by Shimit Amin. He won rave reviews for his role in Rajneeti(2010) as Samar Pratap. His last released movie Anjana Anjani with Priyanka Chopra did average business at the box office.

Ranbir’s upcoming movies include Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar. Ranbir had dated Avantika Mallik, Imran Khan’s wife, for five years. After which he dated Deepika Padukone for a year. Now he claims he is single, but the rumour mills suggest that he is seeing Katrina Kaif. Ranbir abstained from attending Imran’s engagement and wedding reception, though he maintains that they are good friends.
