Juhi Chawla was born on 13th November, 1967 to S. Chawla and Mona Chawla. With a height of 5.5 feet, Juhi’s natural hair colour is black and eyes dark brown. Hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab, she graduated from Sydenham College in Mumbai, specializing in Human Resources. After winning the Miss India Award in 1984 she went on to pursue her career in the film industry. Her charming and bubbly character gained her much success.
Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) was Juhi Chawla’s debut film of Bollywood starring alongside Aamir Khan. She was awarded the Filmfare Lux New Face Award and received her first nomination for Filmfare Best Actress Award. Hum Hai Rahi Pyaar Ke (1993) and Darr (1993) were her most successful movies. Most of Juhi’s movies from ’94 – ’96 were unsuccessful; however, she made a winning comeback in 1997 with Yes Boss and Ishq. She was often paired up with Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan in numerous movies. Apart from Bollywood, Juhi Chawla has starred in a few Punjabi and South Indian films.
Along with Shahrukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta, Juhi Chawla was suspected in a controversy of the 3rd Edition of IPL where the cricket players from Pakistan were rejected. However, the Indian government denied these accusations from the Pakistanis.
Currently Chawla is married to Jai Mehta since 1997. They have 2 children, a daughter born in 2001 and a son in 2003. The couple co-owns the IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders partnering with Shahrukh Khan under their company Red Chillies Entertainment.
