Handsome hunk, John Abraham, was born in Mumbai on 17th December, 1972. His father is an architect and is a Malayali, while John's mother, Phiroza Irani, is Parsi. He completed his higher studies in Mumbai from The Mumbai Educational Trust, with a MBA degree.
John Abraham appeared in a music video, even before he started his career as a model. John won the Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 1999, and got the second place in the Manhunt International Contest, held in Philippines. He started modelling in Singapore, Hong Kong, London and New York. During his successful modelling career, he also appeared in advertisements and music albums in India.
John Abraham debuted in Bollywood in 2003 with "Jism" opposite Bipasha Basu. He also acted in other films like "Saaya", "Paap", "Dhoom", "Madhoshi", "Kaal", "Water", "Garam Masala", "Zinda", "Baabul", "New York", "7 Khoon Maaf". He was awarded Filmfare best Debut Award for "Saaya" in 2003.
He works for PETA also. And owns a brigade for Habitat For Humanity, which is a Jimmy Carter foundation project. John took part in Mumbai Marathon in 2009. And he is also affiliated to Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai.
John Abraham had a tiff with Aditya Chopra, sometime back, when the former refused to sign "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom". But later, John asked forgiveness, and everything smoothed out. He is also not in talking terms with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
