Esha Deol, is the elder daughter of superstars Dharmendra and Dreamgirl Hema Malini. She was born on 2nd of November, in Mumbai, in 1982. She has a younger sister, Ahana. She is also the step sister of well known Bollywood actors Bobby Deol and Sunny Deol. She is 5’6” tall.
Esha is a trained Bharatnatyam exponent, her guru being her mother and grandmother, Jaya Chakravarthy. She was also an excellent football player and wanted to become a professional footballer. She schooled in Jamnabhai Narsee and attended Oxford University for college. She holds a masters degree in Media Arts and Computer Technology.
She hit the scene with the movie “Koi Mere Dil Se Puche” by Boney Kapoor in 2002. She received 8 awards for it. Aftab Shivadasani was her co-star in the movie. Her first successful movie was Dhoom in 2004, followed by “Kaal”, “Dus” and “No Entry”. She knows Tamil very well and has acted in a Tamil movie “Aiyatha Ezhuthu”, directed by Mani Ratnam. She has also shown her acting skills in “Ankahee”, where she plays a role with grey shades. It was directed by Vikram Bhatt.
She is good friends with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She is also a friend of Kareena Kapoor for long. She prefers to converse in English as she is weak in Hindi. Her acting idols are Julia Roberts and Kajol. Her father did not want her to get into acting and is very protective of her.
Of late, most of her movies have flopped including Just Married and Cash.
