Once rated as the sexiest woman in Asia by a UK magazine, there could hardly be a better example of a Bollywood bombshell other than Bipasha Basu. The Bengali beauty with alluring eyes and sun kisssed complexion was born on 7th January in 1979. Bipasha the middle of the three sisters happened to spend her early days in Delhi and Kolkata. While doing graduation in commerce from Calcutta, she casually took to ramp and modelling.
Her meeting with the supermodel Mehr Jessia marked a major turning point in her life. Encouraged by Mehr’s suggestion she not only participated in the supermodel contest organized by Godrej, but also won the same. The year2001 saw the introduction of the bold beauty to the world of celluloid in Ajnabee by Abbas-Mustan. She broke the common myth questioning the acting ability of models by winning the Filmfare Award. Her performance which was a big success at the box office also won her much applause.
