Avantika Malik, is the daughter of CNBC TV 18’s head, Vandana Malik. She was born on 18th July 1987. She is from a non filmy background.
She has earlier worked in the serial “Just Mohabbat” in the 90s. The serial was telecast on Sony television and was produced by Dia and Tony Singh.
Ranbir Kapoor had a crush on Avantika and they had dated each other for five whole years, after which they parted their ways. This point has always led to an uncomfortable situation between Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan.
When Imran was 20 years old, he started dating Avantika Malik. After dating her for eight solid years, they tied the knot on 10th January, 2011. Their wedding ceremony took place in Imran Khan’s uncle, actor Aamir Khan’s Pali Hill bungalow and was attended by Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao and other top Bollywood celebrities. Not surprisingly, Ranbir Kapoor was absent from their wedding and engagement ceremony.
Avantika Malik and Imran Khan had been through a lot of ups and downs in their relationship, but Imran Khan has always maintained that Avantika Malik has been a source of strength for him and she has also helped him evolve as a person.
They secretly got engaged on Avantika Malik’s birthday, at Arjun Rampal’s party. But they were officially engaged on January 16th, 2010 in Avantika Malik’s farmhouse in Navi Mumbai’s Karjat.
After their wedding at Aamir Khan’s bungalow, the couple had a reception in Goa. Avantika Malik also appeared on Karan Johar’s talk show “Koffee with Karan” in 2010, as someone who spoke for Imran Khan.
